DC Corner

Detective Comics #1000 is 80 years in the making with the title that defines DC Comics. The Marvel Corner

The new Marvel event is set for April 2019 bringing us War of the Realms.

Marvel released an exclusive first look giving us an inside scoop:

Malekith the Dark Elf has been rampaging across the Realms for years, and now he’s coming for Midgard. There, the Super Heroes of the Marvel Universe make their final stand, and a war begins.

So, why is Captain America riding a winged horse? Where does Jane Foster come into play? How does Wolverine get involved? Why does Daredevil have a sword…and why is he covered in starry lights? The Punisher, Luke Cage, Iron Fist; how do these street-level heroes join the fight? Spider-Man: Life Story is a new high end limited series that’s part of Marvel celebrating 80 years of comics. Chip Zdarsky and Mark Bagley brings us Spider-Man as we never seen him before. Peter Parker became the hero in 1962 in Amazing Fantasy #15. What if we had followed Spider-Man through all fifty-seven years of his existence covering real world events and set him against key events of the decades?

The first oversized issues features Flash Thompson drafted into the Vietnam War. Spidey must weigh in on where his new superhero responsibilities truly lies.

It’s me, guys, so you know I had to talk about new Star Wars comics. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been aching for a new Darth Vader series since Charles Soule ended his stellar run (let us know if we can order those trade paperbacks for you! You don’t want to miss that series!).

Marvel has announced a brand new Darth Vader series called Star Wars: Vader- Dark Visions. Promising to show us a side of Darth Vader in a way we have never seen before, we’ll get new light shown on the galaxy’s favorite villain. Issues one and two will release in March, and here’s your sneak peek:

Issue One: Who is Darth Vader?

He has been many things: a Sith warrior, a commander, a destroyer. But there are some corners of the galaxy so dark and desperate that even Vader can be a knight in shining armor.

Issue Two: The Cost of Failure

To command an Imperial Star Destroyer is a coveted position. But with such great responsibility come grave consequences if you fail. How far will one officer go to spare himself from the judgement of Darth Vader?

Invisible Kingdom: This new sci-fi saga tells the tale of two women– a young religious acolyte and a hard-bitten freighter pilot– who secretly uncover a vast conspiracy between the leader of a system dominant religion and the mega corporation that controls society. When your beliefs betray you, what choices do you have left?

Bad Luck Chuck: Cursed at birth, Charlene “Chuck” Manchester hires out her own bad luck, providing disaster where someone else can profit. When Chuck gets stuck between a dissatisfied crime boss client, a cult leader, and a dogged insurance-fraud investigator, things get explosive.

Transformers: The world of Cybertron seems to be in infinite peace. All that changes when Bumblebee and Windblade take a newly forged Cybertronian on his first voyage through the world of wonders. They are confronted by the first murder to have occurred on Cybertron in living memory.

Glow: The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling are ready to take on the world–or at least L.A.–in this comic series based on the hit Netflix show. Forced to raise money, the ladies take on their biggest challenge: actual wrestlers!

Ronin Island

Ronin Island: A mysterious attack wipes out the major cities of 19th century Japan, Korea, and China. Hana, the orphaned daughter of Korean parents, and Kenichi, the son of a great samurai leader, will have to work together when an army invades their refugee island. Facing a new shogun and a mutated hoard, will Hana and Kenichi trust each other enough to survive?

The Goon: Eric Powell returns to his roots to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his flagship character. Goon and Franky return from strange adventures aboard to find a horde of unsavory characters have filled the void left in his absence from Lonely Street.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch: Sabrina is a teen witch who’s struggling with balancing the double life of high school and her new powers. It’s hard being the new girl in town while trying to save the school from supernatural events!
