Welcome to Hill House Comics!

Just in time for Halloween, DC Comics welcomes horror mastermind Joe Hill to their line up. Starting this month, a new line of horror comics will debut with Basketful of Heads #1. These five new titles will also have a serialized backup comic called “Sea Dogs” about a group of werewolves terrorizing a crew of sailors at sea.

The Hill House Comics line includes Basketful of Heads, The Dollhouse Family (debuts in November), The Low, Low Woods (debuts in December), Daphne Byrne (debuts in January), and Plunge (debuts in February).

“We’re so happy to welcome Joe Hill to DC, and to partner with him on this new specialty line of creator-owned horror books,” DC publisher Dan DiDio said. “Horror has been such an integral part of DC’s history, and it’s a tradition we want to see revitalized. As a lifetime fan of horror, I know fans are going to be so excited when these books hit shelves.”

Year of the Villain: Hell Arisen kicks off the next phase of the “Year of the Villain” story line.

Lex Luthor has brought Perpetua back from her cosmic grave and restored her power. Now the multiverse is living in fear that she might wipe out all of existence. Only the forces of the Dark Multiverse can stop her– which means it’s Luthor’s mission to defeat the Batman Who Laughs. But if Batman and Superman couldn’t stop him, what chance will Luthor have?

This four part miniseries kicks off in December. It’s a battle royal that will set into motion the beginning of the end for “Year of the Villain.”

StarWars.com had the scoop with the upcoming one shot Star Wars: Empire Ascendant #1.

Marvel’s Star Wars comic may be ending in November with issue #75, but StarWars.com can exclusively announce that fans of the long-running series can get their hands on a special one-shot finale issue this December.

Star Wars: Empire Ascendant #1, a 56-page epic, is written by Charles Soule, Greg Pak, Simon Spurrier, and Ethan Sacks, with art by Luke Ross, Roland Boschi, and more.

Star Wars: Empire Ascendant #1 finds the Rebel Alliance — Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo among them — building up Echo Base on the ice planet of Hoth while Darth Vader tries to locate the headquarters in vain. In addition to acting as an epilogue to the Star Wars flagship comic run, which followed the continuing adventures of our heroes after the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, the special one-shot will also address the fates of Doctor Aphra and Beilert Valance.

Everything is destined for Hoth as the main Star Wars line gets ready for a reboot in 2020! This line will follow the events after The Empire Strikes Back!
